Here are some random photos I finally downloaded from Nate's iPhone.

First, a lovely sunny day on the field down by the middle and high schools. These are from CNY.

Next, some crazy soft shell crab rice paper rolls at a Thai restaurant we went to a month or so ago. They were a bit too fried for our taste.

These are more recent photos of an impromptu playdate on the field.

We took Finley for a hike today in this hand-me-down carrier. He liked it so much he fell asleep.

We also went to a cowboy-themed birthday party today. Finley was too cute in his bandana and hat!

First Steps!

Here are a few of Finley's first steps- we finally caught some on camera! SO exciting!

Sadly, Finley is currently sick with his first cold (not bad for 11 months!). But he's been a tough guy. We feel fortunate that he has been such a healthy baby!

Also, for those of you who want to post comments and have forgotten how (or never knew how to begin with), here's your tutorial, because we would love to have your comments.

1. At the bottom of the post, click where it says "0 Comments" or "1 Comment" or whatever.

2. Type your comment in the big box on the righthand side of the screen.

3. There will be some random letters that you should type in the box that says "Word Verification". (This is to make sure you're a real person.)

4. Under "Choose an Identity", you can sign in with your Google/Gmail name and password if you have one. If you don't have one, select "Name/URL" but only enter your name.

5. Click on "Publish Your Comment".

Alright, now you all know. No excuses. :)

11 Months Old

Finley is 11 months old now! Hard to believe we're nearing 1 year! Here is a quick video of Finley enjoying the warm weather this past weekend, playing on the field at school.

Finley is getting closer to walking. He took 2 or 3 steps by himself last Thursday and Friday! He is also learning to clap, though it, too, is sporadic. Finley's 6th tooth is finally starting to break through, as is #7. Poor kid- his gums are so swollen from teething. He is desperate to chew on anything and everything! Finley is trying new foods and combinations almost every day now. His favorite finger foods are still onion bagels and cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, gouda, etc.), but he also really enjoys avocado, pasta, and black beans at the moment.

Here is a random photo of me with Finley right before we left for church on Sunday. Finley was getting sleepy and cuddling with me, but of course the second he saw Nate with the camera he wanted to check it out!

We have a couple of baby swings at our apartment complex, and Finley loves to swing! (You can see he's singing/screaming in some of the photos.)

Finley's February Hobbies

One of Finley's new favorite things to do is pull up the rug. He tried to chew on it once, but bumped his nose on the ground.

Once he saw the camera, he immediately took off to get it!

Finley is trying lots of new foods all the time...but not always liking them. This is garlic broccoli:

Finley's favorite toys right now are his foam floor tiles. He loves the letter J, with S being the second runner up.

Turning Pages

And now, what you've all been wait for-- a video! We present for your viewing pleasure... drumroll please... Finley's Page Turning Debut.

In other exciting news, Finley cut another tooth yesterday, putting us up to 5 teeth! I can feel the other tooth under his gums, so we're expecting #6 any day now. Is it sad that I get excited when he cuts teeth? When I woke up and found a new tooth in his mouth yesterday, I almost felt like it was Christmas morning.
