Click on this panorama to expand. This is the hill where we went sledding in the park by Finley's school. It was a bit of a hike to get there with the kids but we had nothing but time!

The roads in our neighborhood finally got plowed!

I have a feeling it's going to look like this for a while!

So much snow, and this is just in our yard. There are piles that are easily 15-20 feet tall in all the parking lots.

Snowzilla 2016

Wow, we sure got a big reintroduction to winter in the States! Here are some initial photos of Snowzilla. 

During the blizzard...

Totally snowed in. Could hardly open our doors. 

 

Venturing out. Elise didn't like it being so deep, because she couldn't get around. She mostly tried to crawl across the top of the snow.

As of yesterday afternoon, neighbors had started shoveling little paths through the snow so we went for a walk.

Today is Day 4 of being housebound, and no end in sight. Neighborhood roads are still totally impassable. Supposed to be warmer tomorrow but it's going to take a while melt this much snow!

January Christmas Photos

When your 3-yr-old refuses to cooperate for a few Christmas photos, you dress the kids up again in mid-January! As Jessica says, just keeping it real, folks. 

Afternoon in DC

We make it into DC remarkably infrequently given that it's only half an hour away, but we're hoping to improve on that in the new year. After spending the morning undecorating the house from Christmas and cleaning up millions of tree needles, we spent the afternoon at the Museum of Natural History and then out to dinner. One hour at the museum was about all the kids could handle. Good thing it's free and we can go back!

Holiday Travel

Ah, that peaceful time in the trip when both kids are sleeping. 

Snow in Groton! The kids' first time seeing snow since they can remember, and they loved it. So fun to watch them experience the wonder and joy! (Not as fun trying to get them both bundled up in snow boots, mittens, coats, hats, etc every time we go out.)
