Here are more photos to catch you up on Finley's first few days in our world. We're all doing well, just trying to learn together about feeding (which is what I spend literally half of my time doing right now), changing diapers (Finley pooped everywhere last night while Nate was trying to change him), baths (he doesn't like being cold or naked!), and how and when to sleep (sleep? what's that?). Nate and I are a bit sleep deprived, but are doing surprisingly well considering. Last night was our best night yet. We slept around 8pm for an hour and half or two, then again at 2am for another hour and a half or so, then again at 5am for another hour!

Day 2, Wednesday
Finley making faces
Finley loves to cuddle. He's got his old man face in this photo.
Just starting to open his eyes as the swelling goes down on his face and head. Hard to tell in the photo, but his eyes are currently a dark blue. You can see a tiny bit of hazel or brown if you're in good light. Nate and I are interested to see what color they'll turn out to be!
Kathryn and Chris, our good friends, were Finley's first visitors. They're naturals!
Day 3, Thursday
Here's what the hospital room looked like. It's basically like a hotel room, but with a hospital bed in it. Nate slept on the pullout chair over by the doors. You can't see Finley in the photo, he's feeding under the blanket.
Matilda Hospital is on the Peak, so it has great views. Here is the view from the room at night.
And the view during the day. One really cool thing about Finley being born at Matilda is that Alice Hollenbeck, Nate's stepmom's mother, was also born at Matilda! Her parents were missionaries.
Nate has discovered that Finley loves the football hold.
Day 4, Friday
This is our wonderful doctor, Grace, who took care of me for 9 months and delivered Finley. She came to check on me everyday in the hospital. My knee surgeon also came by one day to check in and bring a gift for Finley. Can you believe that?!
Time to go home! It was unseasonably cold on Friday, so we bundled Finley up!
Finley didn't like being put in the car seat, but he enjoyed the ride home!
He's wearing one of his outfits from Aunt Jessica and Uncle Brett. I was surprised at how big everything is on him, despite his massive size! I'm sure that won't last long, once he starts packing on the pounds! Speaking of clothes, we have a problem because Finley's feet are so long that they don't fit in his newborn socks...but they're so skinny that the larger socks won't stay on! I guess he got Mommy's long, narrow feet.
Friday afternoon, a bunch of girls from school came to visit. This is Maggie, my wonderful maternity leave substitute.
And Vero, my wonderful teaching assistant (TA).
Day 5, Saturday
Finley in his new crib. The first night we tried using the bassinet in our room, but it wasn't very successful. Not sure if that was because he was adjusting to his new home, or if he really isn't a fan. So far he seems to like the crib better, which is surprising because it is so big. We'll see what happens in the coming days. Luckily the bassinet is borrowed, so if he doesn't like it, it's no big deal.
